Linying Zou, CFA

 

At Akras, Linying focuses primarily on sourcing investment deals and conducting the necessary underwriting, due diligence, and negotiations during the acquisition process. 

Prior to founding Akras, she most recently worked as a corporate bond trader and credit analyst at Longfellow Investment Management Company ($10+ Billion AUM) in Boston. While there, she recommended and implemented investment ideas for $5BN corporate and government portfolios. Additionally, she executed daily trades up to $300M in response to portfolio strategy and market conditions. 

An experienced analyst and trader, Linying began her career at Knights of Columbus as a credit analyst. She also worked at Emerson (now part of Boston Financial), where she ran their credit desk and managed their $200 million fixed income portfolio. She also spent two years at State Street Global Advisors as a credit analyst focused on industrial companies.

Linying studied Finance and Accounting at prestigious Boston College. As a Chartered Financial Analyst, she is also a member of the CFA institute and CFA Society Boston where she maintains strong ties to the Boston and New York financial communities. 

Linying is an avid trekker and has traveled extensively in Asia, where she has close family ties and is a fluent speaker of Mandarin Chinese. She is also an avid snowboarder and a foodie, with a home base in Boston, MA.
